Suva drops key players ahead of FACT semis

May 9, 2019 6:00 am

The AFL Suva football side has been dealt a major blow ahead of the Vodafone Fiji FACT semi-final this Saturday in Lautoka.

This after key players Laisenia Raura, Christopher Wasasala and Vilitati Kautoga were tonight dropped from the team.

Raura and Wasasala broke camp and are believed to have gone on a drinking spree, while Kautoga failed to join camp after the first round ended last weekend.

Suva Football Association president Ritesh Pratap says it is disappointing to have senior players show such attitude.

He says they expected better from players in modern day football.

Pratap says they will make do with players in camp and still field a formidable team for the clash against Ba in the semi-final.

The two teams clash in Churchill Park at 3.30pm before which Lautoka battles Nadi at 1.30pm.

The final is at 3pm on Sunday.
