The Defence Ministry has two major foundations for our national security.

National Security and Defense Council Director General Captain Timoci Natuva, says one of the two foundations is the National Security Strategy.

Natuva says the NSS sets out country’s national security interests and objectives as well as strategic priorities to meet them.

He adds the foundation also covers critical national infrastructure, cybersecurity, money laundering, and terrorism areas.

“So those are the areas we are working on. Also included in the NSS is the environment, personal and community security. The working groups are working on this in consultation with relevant agencies.”

Natuva adds the National Security and Defence Council will meet next week to table updates on the security measures to restrict access to information.
