Road safety rules must be followed: LTA

Drivers must at all time’s follow the road safety rules says Land Transport Authority chief executive, Samuel Simpson.

Simpson says while the presence of LTA enforcement officers will increase on the roads, the drivers also need to take responsibility.

He says they have issued guidance to all motorists.

“Every Fiji driver has passed a driving test. They know what the rules of the road are when they pass our test. We expect them to drive safely, we expect them to look after themselves, their passengers, pedestrians and other roads users. That is the principal behind it.”

Speeding remains a major concern for LTA and the Police Force as drivers are booked for this offence on a daily basis.
