An 11-year-old girl is alleged to have committed suicide.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the reasons for the alleged suicide is still being investigated by Police.

She says the victim resided in a settlement in Vatuwaqa and was found by her sister inside their home yesterday afternoon.

An investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding her death and a post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Meanwhile, 12 people have become victims of suicide in 2019 compared to eight for the same period last year.

Police have also recorded 16 cases of attempted suicide cases compared to 6 for the same period last year.
