Shortage of Paddy’s supply to the rice mills in Dreketi is one of the challenges currently faced by Fiji Rice Limited.

Fiji Rice Limited General Manager Ashrit Pratap says the dry season that was experienced last year as well as excessive rain this year contributed to the shortages of Paddy’s.

He says plans are in place to try and solve the scarcity of Paddy’s.

“Planting has been on hold at the moment so this will basically affect our supplies to the Mill and at the moment we are working towards it and the company is also planting rice to supplement the production level.”
