Farmers who require financial assistance from the Fiji Development Bank needs to first seek advice from the Agriculture Ministry.

This was highlighted by FDB’s General Manager Business Risk Services Nafitalai Cakacaka following concerns raised by some farmers that they are finding difficulties in seeking financial support from the bank.

Cakacaka says agriculture officers will do the on sight inspection and prepare a copy programme for them to look at.

“The Agriculture Ministry they know what to cover .We’ve been working with them for many years so they exactly know what the requirements from FDB are.”

The Fiji Crop and Livestock Council has admitted that farmers did not get enough financial training and is trying to improve on that.
