The Fiji Police Force is expected to begin their Christmas and New Year’s operations next week.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says even though their officers worked through the election period, their visibility on the streets is vital.

“We’ve just gone past elections, we are preparing ourselves again for the festive season, so I can confirm by the end of November we will kick off our operations towards Christmas and New Year.”

Tudravu says they have been a lot of accidents on our roads and we are yet to get to the festive season.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Military Forces will be on standby and will help the Police if the need arises.
