President of the Social Democratic Liberal Party and Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu issued a statement overnight reiterating the party’s undaunting support behind their Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka.

In the statement, Ratu Naiqama urged SODELPA members to remain united and to redouble their efforts for the Party’s ongoing campaign for the 2018 General Election.

The SODELPA President goes on to say that the response from people on their campaign trail has been overwhelming and that they owe Fijians no less than to shift into high gear and forge towards victory.

Ratu Naiqamu says party members can be reassured that SODELPA is united behind Rabuka who is leading the charge on the ground.

While thanking those who showed up in court last week in support of Rabuka, Ratu Naiqama stressed that it is a fundamental tenet of the Party to respect, affirm and defend the rule of law.

He says SODELPA respects the legal process and the rights of appeal of all persons and law enforcement agencies.

The Party President also offering a word of caution, calling on the SODELPA family to refrain from making comments in the media, particularly in the social media platforms on the mater given before the court.

Ratu Naiqama reiterates that Rabuka will continue as Party Leader and that he urges all supporters to remain united behind him.

The Party President also clarifying that the Party remains paramount, and that SODELPA will continue to follow due process and the rule of law.

He says no person is greater than the Party, and all SODELPA members stand for the Party’s values and principles, that will be implemented through the Party Manifesto.
