A military officer facing an attempted murder charge has been released on bail with strict conditions.

Twenty-eight year old Rajiv Padyachi allegedly attempted to murder his partner by drowning her in Colo-i-Suva last month.

Suva High court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe released Padyachi on $1000 bail bond with two sureities.

Justice Rajasinghe ordered Padyachi to reside in Nawaicoba Nadi and to report to Nadi Police station twice a week.

He has been ordered not to interfere with the witnesses and not to travel outside Fiji.

The matter has been adjourned to 24th October.

It’s alleged that Padyachi pushed his partner into the water and tried to drown her at the Colo-i-Suva Park in Suva.
