One of Fiji National University’s long term plans is to have more residential housing for their students.

FNU Vice Chancellor Nigel Healey says they currently have 2000 beds but their student numbers are rapidly approaching 20,000.

“Roughly one in ten students can be accommodated on campus but clearly there’s an enormous demand. So we are working with Investment Fiji and the Fiji Development Bank to explore options for building additional residential housing on campus.”

Healey says this will be affordable housing for their students.

Meanwhile, the University also plans to have a gymnasium built at the Nasinu campus.
