A fifty-one-year-old man charged with one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm appeared at the Suva High Court today.

Viliame Sokiveta pleaded guilty to his charge.

The Court heard Sokiveta allegedly assaulted his 29-year-old daughter in June in Nasinu.

He allegedly threw a bicycle on his daughter, punched her and hit her with a timber when she returned home drunk.

As a result the victim got injured and was taken to the hospital by her sister.

The victim also told the court that she was at fault and sought forgiveness from her father.

The accused told the court that he forgave his daughter and also asked for forgiveness.

He has been further remanded.

He will be sentenced on the 30th of this month.
