Minister for Women tours western division

The Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation is currently visiting the Western Division carrying out awareness and providing services alongside the Rights, Empowerment and Cohesion for Rural and Urban Fijians Project, commonly as REACH.

Minister responsible Mereseini Vuniwaqa is on the tour and visited the maritime districts of Nacula in the Yasawas, stopping at the villages of Navotu and Tamasua.

Villagers have showed cased their wares to the visiting delegation which has included the production of noni juice, virgin coconut oil, moisturizer, soap and dish wash as well as the manufacture and packing of breadfruit and plantain chips.

Vuniwaqa also used the tour to talk to villagers about the National Budget 2018/2019 and its new provisions, such as the Parenthood Assistance Program, social welfare insurance and other initiatives.

Meanwhile in Tamasua village, a wheelchair was given to a Alivereti Vuluma, an amputee who survived a shark attack while fishing eight years ago.
