PAFCO workers request for pay increment

July 31, 2018 7:03 pm

Workers at PAFCO in Levuka have demanded a pay rise.

This was raised with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama during a talanoa session yesterday with the workers.

Many of the workers told Bainimarama that some of them are under-paid while some raised concerns they were being treated unfairly at work.

Bainimarama reminded the workers that a pay rise will only be made possible if the company does well.

Despite the recent pay increment of 12.5 percent which was backdated to January 1st, the workers say this is not enough.

PACFO Board Director Iqbal Janiff says workers are rewarded according to the company’s progress.
