Lautoka Mill crushes more cane than last year

July 13, 2018 4:59 am

The Lautoka Mill has so far crushed 21,325 tonnes of cane despite the initial startup issues.

Fiji Sugar Corporation CEO Graham Clarke says that this was more than the 19,078 tonnes of cane crushed for the same period last year.

Clarke says that the mil has performed efficiently despite initial start-up stoppages.

He says daily time efficiency levels have also increased from 77% to around 94%.
Clarke adds that this has been clearly reflected in the tonnage of cane crushed.

The FSC also states that in the last 24 hours, the mill crushed 4,600 tonnes and cleared over 300 lorries.
