Defence lawyer, Wasu Pillay asked the court that a backpack which contains the accused’s personal belongings be returned as it will not be part of the State’s evidence.

Babitu did not object to this but told the court the only item they will have to check with the Police is the mobile phone.

However, Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge informed Pillay that a list of items in the backpack be tendered in court before he makes his ruling on the application on the 17th of this month.

The matter will be called again on the 24th of this month.

The woman was arrested during a joint operation between the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, Police, Biosecurity Authority and the Health Department.

During the raid the officials seized 13 bars of Cocaine weighing 15 Kilograms and Ecstasy tablets with an estimated value of $10 to 15 million US dollars from the Denarau Port last month.

The officials also found $30,000 undeclared currency, guns and ammunition on the yacht.
