With two days left before the announcement of the 2018/2019 National Budget, relevant stakeholder’s expectations have been set.
FBC News spoke to the newly established Accident Compensation Commission Fiji who has already made a submission for the budget.
Chief executive, Parvez Akbar says the Commission’s general expectation of the budget is one that is generous in addressing a whole range of issues.
“The way the ACCF works is that we receive a grant from the Government. That grant is an operational grant and that we expect to be maintained and hopefully some sort of increase to that grant as the Commission continues to grow in its scope.”
The Commission was allocated one million dollars in the 2017/2018 National Budget.
The National Budget will be announced on Thursday night and will be broadcast live on FBC TV from 7.30pm.
