Nadi FA files protest against Tavua

February 22, 2018 4:05 am

The Nadi Football Association has lodged a protest against Husseini Khan of Tavua whom they claim was ineligible to play in the Vodafone Premier League.

The side lost to Tavua 1-nil last weekend in the last minute goal.

According to Fiji FA, Nadi claims Khan’s ITC is still with NZ Football with South Auckland Rangers Club as his release in this window was not in order as the player was released by Blues FC of Nadi FA to Nadroga FA in 2014 and he played IDC for Nadroga FC in 2014.

Nadi Football President Javed Ahmed says they are now awaiting Fiji FA’s decision.

“We’ve lodged our complaint and it’s with Fiji FA now and they’re now looking into it and hopefully, we will get a response from them soon.”

This year Khan was released by Blues FC and Nadi FA to join Tavua FC in this window.

Looking at this weekend’s VPL, Suva plays Nadi at 7 pm at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Saturday.

In a match earlier at Subrail Park, Labasa host Tavua at 1.30pm.

On Sunday, Rewa plays Ba at 3 pm at Ratu Cakobau Park and Dreketi meets Tavua, 1.30pm at Subrail Park.

You can catch a live commentary of Suva-Nadi match on Radio Fiji Two.
