Senokonoko and Lockington in for CG

Former Adi Cakobau School and Pacific Mini Games gold medallist Miriama Senokonoko and Shawntelle Lockington will be the only two females making up the nine athletes for Team Fiji at the Commonwealth Games in April.

Team Manager Joseph Rodan Junior says Senokonoko and Lockington were both impressive in the last Pacific Mini Games and the weekly competition held at the ANZ Stadium.

“Miriama Senokonoko whose also heading to the World Indoor games in Europe and also the other on we have there is Shawntelle Lockington and those are the two that’s been holding their form and also gold medallist at the mini games.”

Meanwhile, Rodan says they also have Adi Cakobau School sprinter Makereta Naulu and Elenani Tinai who are on the reserve list.

The Commonwealth Games runs through the 4th to the 15th of April in Gold Coast, Australia.
