A 23-year-old man has been charged with allegedly stabbing a taxi driver on Sunday night.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the alleged incident occurred in Lautoka when the accused hired the 30-year-old victim’s taxi and upon reaching Ratu Kamisese Mara Road he committed the offence.

He fled the scene and investigators managed to track him down and arrested him at Nasowata Settlement.

He has since been charged with one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm and will be produced at the Lautoka Magistrates Court later today.

The victim remains admitted in the hospital.
