Preliminary cost of damage on Agriculture sector expected soon

The Agriculture Ministry is expected to have preliminary damage figures later today while the actual figures of damage sustained will be known in two weeks’ time.

Talking to FBC News, Deputy Secretary for Agriculture Uraia Waibuta says a long term plan is vital to get the sector back on its feet.

Waibuta says significant damage has being sustatined in farming communities located next to the river banks in particular, the Rewa River, Wainimala, Wainibuka, Navua and part of Sigatoka Valley.
