The Nausori town was a buzz this morning as people were out in numbers to buy groceries and vegetables.

Market vendors brought their produce this morning as this is the only source of income for many.

The vendors living in low lying areas say they found difficulty bringing their produce to the markets however this is their peak sales period as Christmas is just seven days away.

46-year-old Navinesh Prasad of Lakena Irrigation Road in Nausori raised concerns on the poor drainage system – saying this is the main cause of flooding.

Prasad is hopeful something will be done in the future as farming is their only course of income.

Some low lying areas in the interior of Nausori remain flooded.
