Archer Robert Elder is cautious of the competition he will be up against at the Rio Olympics in Brazil next month.

Elder who qualified on merit in April, is part of another batch of athletes who left our shores for Brazil today.

Although archery is a minor sport in Fiji, the 34 year old has been training hard to achieve his goal.

“I was training with Coach Yep for three and a half months in Thailand. The training was very intense. Couple of things i work on my techniques and I’m aiming to this Olympic Games to do my best and If I come out up on the podium I will be more than happy”.

Having been an archer for almost 18 years, Elder says the sport has grown slowly in the country.
