The Australian Football League Fiji’s New Development Officer, Simon Highfiled is currently in the country focusing in developing the sport throughout Fiji.

Highfed worked with the Solomon Islands AFL before coming to Fiji.

He says he will assist in developing football at both the Junior and senior level.

“AFL Fiji at the moment are running school programs, so we go out and run quality programs that resolve around developing and teaching them skills and rules of AFL but ultimately we using sports and AFL as a vehicle to teach and improve participants ability to be aware of the importance of physical activities, the importance of health nutrition and factors associated with NCD’s”.

Highfiled says they will also be running high school competition in the western and central division towards the end of this year.
