The 50-year-man, who is alleged to be assaulted by his 30-year-old brother in Samabula last week, was buried today.

Younger brother and the alleged accused, Sakiusa Saukuru who is charged with one count of murder, was also given the green light in court to attend his brother’s funeral.

Magistrate Neil Rupasinghe had ordered that the Police escort the accused from prison to attend the funeral of his brother and be taken back to custody.

Saukuru is expected to appear in court tomorrow before the case is referred to the Suva High Court as the murder charge is an indictable offence.

The two brothers were drinking together when an argument broke out and erupted into a fight that resulted in death.
