France congratulates Fiji on 45th Independence anniversary

French President Francois Hollande has sent a congratulatory message to Fiji for it’s 45th Independence Day celebration.

In his message, Hollande says the excellence in relations between Fiji and France was recently demonstrated by the signing of the agreement on the delimitation of our respective maritime zones.

He says the documents not only represent an act of sovereignty but also a strong will to protect our resources.

Hollande says cooperation between the two countries continues to strengthen and today it covers many projects in education, language, science, academia, culture and art.

He says this partnership should be further developed, especially during the upcoming France-Oceania Summit in Paris in November 26th, where Fiji’s presence would be very much appreciated as well as the Climate Conference on the 30th of November.
