Demarcation of village boundaries nearing completion

The i Taukei Affairs Board is on the verge of completing the demarcation of village boundaries for the 1,171 known villages.

Permanent Secretary Savenaca Kaunisela says more than 700 villages have had their boundaries set and marked by the I Taukei Affairs ministry.

Kaunisela says more demarcation is on the way as they complete their task nationwide.

The Ministry has completed 10 provinces and are now working in the provinces of Naitasiri and Ra with the last two to be done – Lau and Lomaiviti.

Kaunisela says they want to complete their work by the end of the year.

The Ministry of i Taukei Affairs will start implementing village bylaws once the demarcation of village boundaries around the country is completed.
