Glasgow has announced the signing of Flying Fijians halfback, Nikola Matawalu.

He will join up with the Warriors and provide competition for the scrum-half berth to 62 times capped Scot Chris Cusiter, Henry Pyrgos and elite development player, Murray McConnell.

Matawalu told overseas media, the switch from Southern hemisphere rugby would be an adjustment.

Coach Gregor Townsend says Matawalu is an exciting signing for Glasgow.

He believes the nippy Navy player will is quick and strong and will provide something different to their backline.
