A three bedroom house belonging to a 33-year-old farmer of Lomaivuna in Naitasiri was raised to grounds in a fire early yesterday morning.

The farmer was in his farm during the incident while his mother, wife and two children were at home.

Initial investigations reveal that the fire started from one of the bedrooms.

It is alleged that the two children were playing with matches when the mattress caught on fire.

Several attempts were made to put out the fire but were too late to save the home.

Investigations are continuing.
