A man has died after the bus he was working on crushed him to death.
FBC News understands the mechanic was working under the bus when someone unknowingly started it, and the tyre rolled on top of him.
The incident happened at the S.Nairs bus depot in Nasinu yesterday afternoon.
Police Director Operations SSP Rusiate Tudravu says the death could have been avoided.
The particulars cannot be disclosed but I can confirm that one of the employees from a bus company was under the bus doing some repair works when the bus rolled and crushed him and upon arrival at the CWM hospital he was pronounced dead.
Tudravu is advising the public to take extra precautions in the execution of their duty.
Just advice workers and also the employers if you can take heed of all precautionary measures to avoid circumstances like this.
