SVC is new boys hockey champs

Nadi’s Swami Vivekananda College is the new boys champions of the secondary schools hockey after beating St John’s College 3-2 on penalty strokes this afternoon.

The teams were tied nil all at full time in the 11-a-side competition.

Defending champions St Joseph’s Secondary of Suva retained the girls title at the Fiji Secondary Schools Hockey IDC in Lautoka.

St Joseph’s retained the 11-a-side title after ousting home team Natabua High 3-2 on penalty strokes.

The seven-a-side tournament for secondary schools will start this afternoon.
