The Fiji Special Olympics team will be participating in five sporting events at the Abu Dhabi Special Olympics Summer Games this year.

Chef de Mission Bishwa Sidal says Fiji will be taking twenty-one athletes who will be participating in Athletics, Table Tennis, Soccer and Swimming.

However, Sidal says transportation is an issue they’re facing as they have players form all around the country.

“The athletes are from all the districts right from the North to the West, Central, Eastern and getting them to one point is sometimes difficult because we cannot just call the athlete it has to come with a mentor or a coach or a family member.”

Meanwhile, the Special Olympics will be held from the 14th to the 21st of March.
