Three admitted following bus accident in Serua

Three passengers who were involved in an accident near Vunaniu, Serua yesterday afternoon have been admitted at the hospital.

A man in his 20s and two women sustained serious injuries when the bus they were travelling in veered off the road while allegedly trying to overtake another vehicle.

A Police ambulance coordinated by the Police Special Response Unit was deployed to assist medical officials transport these three passengers to the CWM Hospital.

One other passenger remains admitted at the Navua Hospital while eight have been treated and sent home.

The thirty-year-old bus driver is yet to be questioned.

Meanwhile the efforts put in by the Special Response Unit officers in transporting the three emergency cases from Navua to CWM Hospital has been commended by Senior Health officials.

The coordination between Emergency Officials and Police improved the response time.
