The Lautoka Mill is crushing an average of 5,000 tonnes of cane per day, which is 17% more than the set target.

Fiji Sugar Corporation’s Chief Operating Officer, Navin Chandra says the efforts made by their Lautoka team to rectify the issues have been successful and the mill has crushed close to 10% more compared to the same period last year.

He says despite the initial teething issues, Lautoka Mill has improved significantly – showcasing the mill’s full potential.

Chandra adds that the FSC is confident in delivering a target of 4,500 tonnes per day.
