The Mineral Resources Department is urging the people to adhere to all safety measures while buying fireworks.

Director of Mineral Resources, Raijeli Taga, says the public must ensure that the safety instructions on the fireworks are clear and in English.

Taga says only permitted fireworks which include fountains, cakes/combinations and sparkles should be bought.

She is also reminding the public to not transport fireworks in the passenger compartment of any vehicles.

Meanwhile, the use of fireworks is permitted between 5pm and 10pm every day and can be used until midnight on Diwali.
