A 24-year-old man who allegedly caused the death of a 24 year-old woman in Varoko Ba over the weekend appeared in court today.

Ashish Narayan of Valelevu Nasinu has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and has been released on $1000 bail with a surety.

Narayan has also been ordered to report to the nearest police station, twice a week.

The incident occurred on Saturday at around 7pm with three vehicles involved.

The deceased sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital where she later
passed away.

Meanwhile, police are still looking for a driver who was involved in a hit and run in Bara Sigatoka.

A 39-year-old man was hit by an unknown vehicle believed to be travelling from Nadi to Sigatoka.
