Nadi out to restore fans faith

October 10, 2015 7:50 pm

Nadi football coach, Kamal Swamy says his side’s 1-0 semifinal win over Labasa in the Courts Inter District Championship should restore the fan’s and critic’s faith in the side.

This comes after the Jetsetters were accused of match-fixing in the 3-0 final pool match defeat to Suva on Thursday, which allowed the latter to sneak into the semifinals.

Samuela Drudru scored the lone goal for Nadi against Labasa and Swamy says his side is now focused on going one better in their third final appearance, having finished runners-up in the last two years.

“We told them to just go and prove them that it was not a fix and the boys have proven that it was not a fix. We told the fans and the players that if it was a fix, then would not have won this semifinal. I urge the Nadi fans to come out in Nadi and I must say thank you to these boys.”

Nadi will take on Ba in the IDC final at 4pm today and you can catch the live commentary on Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.

Meanwhile in the senior division, Navua, Taveuni, Tailevu Naitasiri and Rakiraki have booked a spot in the semi-final this morning.

Navua will face Taveuni at 9am while Tailevu Naitasiri will battle Rakiraki.

In the primary school division, Ba will take on Labasa in the final while Kamil Muslim College and Saraswati High School will clash in the secondary school division final.
