Ratu Meli Derenalagi has been named the World Rugby 7s Rookie of the year.
The announcement was made in the last hour.
Derenalagi won the rookie of the year award after a stellar debut season for Fiji.
The 20-year-old former Queen Victoria School student played in 55 matches out of 60 this season with 17 tries.
He made 45 offloads in the series just four short of Vilimoni Botitu with 49.
Aminiasi Tuimaba and Vilimoni Botitu were also nominated for the Rookie of the Year award.
Jerry Tuwai and Eroni Sau are the other Fiji 7s players who have won the award.
Meanwhile, Vilimoni Botitu is the winner of the DHL Rugby Impact Player award for 2019 after clocking up 356 points.
