Mata praises Edinburgh Rugby for shaping his rugby career

Flying Fijians flanker Viliame Mata says being selected in the Rugby World Cup squad is a step further into his rugby career.

The Edinburgh Pro 14 player of the year says that being one of the four Olympians in the team is a historical achievement for him as he looks to create history as well with the Flying Fijians.

“Yeah it’ll be something great for me being part of this RWC Squad, trying to make history in this world cup, then the achievements I have so far”.

Known for his superior offloads alongside Leone Nakarawa, he adds that Edinburgh Rugby has helped mold him into a better rugby player with the help of his coach and former England loose forward Richard Cockerill.

The Flying Fijians are expected to depart our shores next week for the Pasifika Test match against Tonga in Eden Park, New Zealand.
