The National Men’s and Women’s Golf squads has set its sights on winning gold in the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

Fiji has never won gold in golf at the regional games but officials are hoping that local golfers will draw inspiration from the Fiji International that was held at the renowned Natadola Bay Championship Course earlier this year.

Team Manager, Ilaisa Labaibure says he is impressed with the commitment shown by players during training.

“We can see the improvement in the performance which gives us the very good feeling that they will perform well in PNG come July next year.”

Labaibure adds that more local golfers have attained international ranking after participating in the Fiji International.

The 2015 Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of July in Papua New Guinea.
