Minister for Health and Medical Services, Jone Usamate has called on the nurses to recognize the need to enhance service delivery for the benefit of all Fijians.

He highlighted this message at the 2nd National Nurses Scientific Symposium, which opened yesterday in Suva.

Usamate says nurses are on the frontline of the health workforce and they carry an obligation to deliver high quality service.

The minister says the symposium is important, because it provides knowledge, and the sharing of experiences and networking can enhance the quality of nursing and thereby health in general.

More than 160 nurses from around the country are attending the two-day symposium which concludes today.
