Suva High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe will give his judgement in the trial of Colombian national Aiden Alec Hurtado this afternoon.

Hurtado is charged with one count of unlawful importation of illicit drugs.

Following the two week trial, the three assessors yesterday did not find him guilty of the charge.

Hurtado is alleged to have imported 20.5kg of cocaine into Fiji without lawful authority three years ago.

He was acquitted in 2015 however the state had filed an appeal which was granted and a re-trial took place this month.

The judgement will be heard at 3:30pm.
