Alleged murderer further remanded

A 32-year-old man charged with the alleged murder of a New Zealand national has been further remanded in custody.

Rusiate Raiwalui has been charged with one count of murder.

State lawyer today informed the court that they are still waiting for further investigation in the conspiracy of illicit drug trade.

It is alleged that on May 8th this year, Raiwalui allegedly murdered Ashkan Farsani in Lami.

The New Zealand businessman was dropped off at the CWM Hospital on May 8th and stab wounds were found on his chest.

He was pronounced dead later.

The case will be recalled on October 25th for pre-trial conference.
