112 cases of children being victims of domestic violence have been recorded so far this year by the Social Welfare Ministry.

This is a massive increase compared to 4 cases recorded in 2018.

Child Services Assistant Director Ela Tukutukulevu says these children are mainly caught between parental conflicts.

“Most of these cases too were also received not only through the child welfare act notification, but the government also had established a National child helpline.”

Tukutukulevu is urging children who feel they are being threatened in any way to call the Child Helpline on 1325.
