The Police Force has confirmed receiving a complaint from the Electoral Commission on certain individuals who were allegedly spreading misinformation on the 2018 General Election to the public.

Details are sketchy however FBC News confirms the suspected offenders are from Labasa.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says investigations on all suspected instances of false information still continues.

Earlier in the day, the Electoral Commission Chair Suresh Chandra confirmed that three individuals were referred to Police for spreading false information on the upcoming elections.

The General Election will be held next year.
