Major fire at USP Laucala campus

A major fire broke out at the University of the South Pacific’s Laucala Campus last night.

The major structural fire is believed to have severely damaged the Student Academic Services building located in the middle of the campus which was a multi-story building.

From FBC Drone pictures that were taken of the blaze last night, it appears the fire engulfed the entire structure which also housed the offices for Pacific TAFE and several other USP support services.

Details are sketchy at the moment about what caused the fire, however according to videos on social media, the National Fire Authority and Emergency Services were able to contain the fire to the three storey building.

There are no reports of injuries.
