Argentinian investors show interest in Fiji

Good news for businesses in Fiji as more investors from Argentina are looking to bring in new projects into the country.

Speaking at the Mercosur-Asean Chamber of Commerce Trade and Technical Mission to Fiji, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry for Trade and Tourism, Shaheen Ali says that this can help businesses increase exports to markets in South America.

Ali adds that the Mercosur-Asean Chamber of Commerce consists of markets in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay and this taps into new opportunities to expand Fiji’s exports both in goods and services.

He says that the discussions with markets in these countries have created a great interest in investments in areas that include, textile, tourism, sugar, medicine and collaboration with small, micro and medium enterprises.

Meanwhile, the Trade and Technical Mission is currently undergoing a week of discussions with Investment Fiji ahead of finalizing investment projects.
