Training of peacekeeping mission trainers completed

The Police Force is now a step further to reaffirming Fiji’s commitment to deploy more officers to UN peacekeeping missions following an intensive training of trainers led by the US government.

Closing the training in Suva today, Assistant Police Commissioner ACP Rusiate Tudravu says before officers were deployed in a formed unit, however this training will ensure some officers are certified trainers for peacekeeping duties.

Tudravu says they will now be able to deploy well trained officers for overseas missions.

Meanwhile, Chief Trainer Rogelio Flores says this is a great opportunity for all police officers.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho had recently revealed to FBC News that a team from the UN will be in the country next month to conduct an assessment.
