A former Ministry of Education Clerical Officer and a former Director of Dynamic Solutions, pleaded not guilty to corruption related charges in court today.
Josaia Dinono is charged with one count of Abuse of Office and one count of General Dishonesty Causing a Loss.
Venktesh Naidu is charged with Obtaining a Financial Advantage.
It’s alleged that Dinono, between January 1stand August 31st 2012 in Suva, did arbitrary acts for gain in abuse of the authority of his office.
He allegedly facilitated the processing of false payments, amounting to more than thirty three thousand dollars, to be made to Dynamic Solutions, which was prejudicial to the rights of the Ministry of Education.
Dinono is also alleged to have caused a loss to the Ministry by facilitating the processing of false payments of the same amount to Dynamic Solutions.
Meanwhile Naidu at the same time engaged in a conduct where he caused payments amounting to more than thirty three thousand dollars, to be made to the company, and as a result of that conduct, he obtained a financial advantage from the Ministry of Education.
The two men are on bail and the case will be recalled on the 20th of February, next year.
