Woman discovers body of new-born baby

Police are investigating a case of infanticide following the discovery of the body of a newborn baby girl at Veiraisi Settlement, Nasinu yesterday.

The discovery was made by a 42-year-old woman who was returning from a fishing trip.

She recovered the victim’s body and took her home and the matter was then reported to the police.

Police investigation continues.
