Over 700 schools are expected to participate in the Adopt-a-Ship programme.

The programme by the International Maritime Organization and Fiji Women in Maritime seeks to build connections between communities.

Minister for Transport Ro Filipe Tuisawau says this will also allow students, ships, and captains, to foster a greater understanding and support for maritime operations in Fiji and the Pacific.
